Today marks another special day for me; Get Fixed, is premiering in its first Philadelphia retail establishment: Auntie Wainwright's General Store [211 South 13th Street]! David & Steve just opened up their spiffy new store a few weeks ago and it's a pretty dapper place to pick up a few unique items [like my book!] just in time for the start of the holiday season. Be sure to stop in, buy a book, buy some other fun stuff for your house, and tell them that Sherman sent you!
I am also happy to report that in addition to Auntie Wainwright's, you can find Get Fixed in Spot's Spot [123 W. Girard Avenue] and Rittenhouse Pet Supply [135 South 20th Street]!
A huge thank you to David, Steve, Melissa, and Paul, and a special best wishes to Wendy! Please support these amazing retail establishments that are helping me spread the good word and support local animal rescue and welfare groups.
I gotta say, there are some pretty spectacular dogs and cats in the city of Philadelphia. Thank you for showing me [and the world] all the smart, charming, witty, flashy, and funny cats and dogs of this city! Choosing from all these wonderful entries was tough! Though it was a bit of a struggle, I was able to narrow my "Short List" [with the help of my “people"], I still need your help!
Please help me decide who should be a part of my Celebrity Philadelphia Posse! Cast your vote here!
I have a special request for those of you that have accounts on Amazon.com. My people recently launched "Get Fixed" on Amazon.com and we are doing a Customer Review Drive to get as many positive reviews published as possible. It would really help if you could click here and take a quick moment to leave some fancy words of praise about the book! Much appreciated!!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Licks to you all!
With both paws in the air, I am thrilled to announce that I have I signed with a FAB literary agency Dystel & Goderich Literary Management. These awesome people will help me take GET FIXED [and my future writings] to a national audience and extend our rescue efforts of both people and pets across the country. I will keep you posted on what happens next – wish me luck. In the meantime, be sure to get a FIRST and LIMITED EDITION of Get Fixed while they last!
Think HOLIDAY GIFTS people! Even a dog can figure that one out! PEACE!
Folks, I have been bestowed with a great honor, to be the Celebrity Guest Dog for the PSPCA’s Bad Dog Ball next Saturday, October 15. It starts at 9PM at the Hyatt on the waterfront with four hours of open bar, late night snacks, raffle prizes, music provided by DEL, and lots of dancing – all to raise money for abused and abandoned animals in Philadelphia. Sounds like my kind of party.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at noon, Sherman will be leading the Pooch Parade at the Midtown Village Fall Festival beginning at 13th and Locust St, a 5-block “block” party that begins at noon and ends at 8PM. Shortly after noon, Sherman will be presenting his first proceeds check to PAWS for $2,510!
Be sure to stop by the GET FIXED booth after 12PM to about 1PM for a photo opportunity with Sherman and to get a paw-signed book!
On August 3rd, a very, very big thing happened: Philadelphia finally met its match. Me.
If you found yourself elsewhere that night [I draw a blank, really, on what that might be], you can finally rid yourself of the sorrow and angst you must be feeling at missing the chance to meet me, kiss me, hug me, pet me, and most importantly, celebrate with me at the event of the season: the launch and debut of my book, “GET FIXED. Relationships According to Sherman.” The "DOGUMENTARY" of the year has finally been released!
And in case you still haven’t, you really must pick up a copy of my new book – it just might change your life!
As I gear up for my next adventure, I'm looking forward to including a handful of animals from around the area to help spread my message to help more people and save more pets.
Look at Buster here, a candidate running for the role as “The Brain”. A former celebrity of Hollywood, this smarty knows how to keep it real and simple.
I'm trying to make a difference for animal rescue and people of all ages. Will you help me? If you think you have the brains, the slyness, the wit, the charm, or the wardrobe to be a part of the power posse, be sure to enter here!
The contest ends 9/30, so be sure to get your entries in!
A BULLDOG ON A FOX! FOX29 THAT IS! September 7, 2011
Yesterday morning, my people woke me up from a lovely, rainy morning snooze to get me to the Fox 29 Philadelphia studios over on Market Street to talk about “GET FIXED” and my new campaign, “Be A Bulldog. Not A Bully”, just in time for the first day of school.
John Anderson and Sheinelle Jones were an absolute pleasure to speak with regarding my perspective on bullying and how to overcome it.
Did you also notice the dramatic demonstration of my athletic capabilities? There should be an Olympic event for Chair Leaping. Enticing cookies couldn’t be overlooked, and when I found an opportunity, I leaped down to quickly grab them. Julie G., my translator, was a little reluctant to allow such a feat, but what can I say? I just go for it. It’s one of my life mottos.
Thank you Fox Philly for helping us spread our message on bullying! If you haven’t had a chance to yet, be sure to download my FREE “Be A Bulldog. Not A Bully” flyer for kids and for parents. It's just down the page from here!
EARTHQUAKE, HURRICANE, AND AMAZON! August 31, 2011
Amazon.com that is! That's right, GET FIXED is now for sale on Amazon.com! With all the craziness going on outside, I laid low for a few days, but I'm gearing up for a great holiday weekend and then back on my book tour with an appearance this Tuesdsay on WTXF Fox 29. Stay tuned friends, I'll post my interview next week. Peace out and be safe this weekend!
With back-to-school just around the corner, so also comes the epidemic of bullying. This year, send your kids back to school with a renewed sense of self-worth and some words of wisdom: Be A Bulldog. Not A Bully!
Below my handsome picture, you can download my Top 10 thoughts on helping take on this awful social issue that haunts children of all ages. Also, you can download and print my mini poster with some words of encouragement for the kids. Let's do this together, and let's spread the good word!
For all of you that have not yet purchased my book, here's a secret... get FREE SHIPPING & HANDLING on your purchase if you select No Bullying Free S&H in the purchase page. That's my thank you for supporting my ZERO tolerance for bullying!
I HOPE YOU'RE NOT GETTING SICK OF SEEING ME! August 17, 2011
It was another great week for some great reading and awesome shows on TV! Did you catch that brillaint segment last Satuday night on 6ABC? Well if you missed, fear not ... you can watch it below. The best part starts at about 7 minutes 45 seconds into the show.
There was also a delicious piece in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Monday. My favorite line from Gloria Campisi's article should have been #26 in my book: "Maybe you should just buy [Get Fixed] and read it for yourself." Thanks Gloria! xox
TWO SURE FIRE INVESTMENTS: GOLD AND MY BOOK August 10, 2011
Is watching our economic indicators making you seasick? Turn off the TV and pick up a good book – mine. A great read and a great investment!
OK, don’t turn off the TV completely or you’ll miss me this Saturday on 6ABC @ 7pm. If you missed my Coming Out Party last Wednesday, my friends at PhillyChitChat were there and took lots of great pics.
I’m busy working on my next release for 8/13 – my back-to-school message for parents. Stay tuned and check it out next Hump Day. Peace out for now!
ONE CRAZY BULLDOG OF A WEEK:
THE PARTY, THE POSSE AND THE PRESS August 4, 2011
After Sherman’s first article on July 20 in the Weekly Press [thanks Haywood Brewster!], Metro Philly followed up with a great review of his book on August 3. In their article titled “The Simple Life”, writer Monica Weymouth echoed Sherman’s sentiments perfectly, “‘Get Fixed’ is a playful reminder to be generous with affection and appreciative of head pats.” Indeed we all should!!! Thanks Monica!
That same day the Philadelphia City Paper published their review of Get Fixed, and Sherman couldn't have been more thrilled! "So if dogs are your thing, especially of the bulldog variety, you’re heart will melt for this one," noted Brian Wilensky. Thank you Brian!
Even though he was in deep beauty sleep the morning of his coming out party, Bubbles & Bones, Sherman got up super early for two TV appearances on August 3. First he met and chatted with anchorman Ukee Washington at 6:45am live on CBS3 and then with the lovely Erika von Tiehl at 7:45am on CW [pictured below]. Besides an afternoon meeting with his “people”, the rest of the day was spent napping. Then a quick bite and it was time to don his blinged collar again and climb aboard his limousine to make his way to the party.
At 7:45pm Sherman arrived at TRUST [249 Arch Street] where he was met by over 200 adoring fans, a red carpet, and his security entourage of none other than a handful of lovely ladies from Delilahs. Sherman spent the rest of the evening in a special roped off area posing for pictures snapped up by both PhillyChitChat.com [covered in Philly Mag's, The Philly Post] and 6ABC. Amongst all the VIPs in attendance was Dana Spain founder and president of PAWS, Sherman’s first charity partner.
After all the festivities had finally died down, Sherman released his next effort to spread his good word – Sherman’s Official Celebrity Philadelphia Posse Contest! Sherman knows that he simply cannot work alone in helping people and animals Get Fixed. He is looking for 5 partners-in-crime to join him on his journeys: The Comic, The Brain, The Sneak, The Flirt, and Fancy. Read more about the contest here.
Sherman looks forward to a restful weekend during which he will be very sadly missing one of his dearest friends that passed away on Tuesday August 2 -- sweet Bella.
SHERMAN'S TV DEBUT ON NBC'S 10! SHOW July 27, 2011
This past Monday, 7/25 Sherman made his TV debut accompanied by one of his media reps and translators Julie Gallagher. It was a day full of pride and excitement as Sherman's book GET FIXED was presented to the Philadelphia viewing audience. Sherman was thrilled to hear NBC's host Bill Henley declare, "It's a great book. What a lot of fun." Thanks Bill and the entire 10! Show Team for a great day!

SHERMAN ANNOUNCES HIS FIRST SELECTION TO RECEIVE DONATIONS FROM BOOK SALES July 7, 2011
proud to announce his partnership with the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). PAWS,
founded by Dana Spain, has become the first benefactor of Sherman’s debut book, “GET FIXED.
Relationships According to Sherman”, and will receive ten percent (10%) of all net proceeds
towards its lifesaving initiatives that include adoption and foster care programs, spay and neuter
surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts to protect and save Philadelphia's animals.
“At PAWS, we work hard to create and find healthy and happy environments for our animals. We
see that Sherman’s book supports our cause in two distinct ways: via financial contribution it
helps to support our on-going programs; via Sherman’s wisdom, it inspires people to have
happier lives themselves. Inasmuch, Sherman is helping people create better homes that may,
one day, be the home for one of our PAWS animals,” says Dana Spain, founder and president of
PAWS. “We are thrilled to be a part of Sherman’s movement.”
Friends, join me this Saturday, December 10, from 11:30AM to 3:30PM for Kegs and Eggs, a brunch and beer fest benefitting Street Tails Animal Rescue [the very rescue that saved yours truly] at Gunners Run [1001 North 2nd Street]! It’s an all-you-can-eat-and-drink to benefit Street Tails Animal Rescue's new facility in Northern Liberties on Liberties Walk! I will be there signing books and reveling in the festivities!
The next few days will most likely be full of parades, turkey [or tofurkey] sandwiches, and general holiday bliss. That is, until Black Friday is upon us and not only are you hit with the sudden regret of eating way too much, but now must face the daunting task of holiday shopping. What to get your Auntie Wainwright? Better yet, what to get the band of holiday Hosts and Hostesses currently filling your inbox with save the dates? And, what to get all the friends who already have everything? Get Fixed.
Pick up Get Fixed at a retail shop near you or on Amazon.com! It truly is the perfect holiday gift [for everyone!] offering sound advice on how to "Get Fixed" in life. Plus, 10% of proceeds benefit my fellow rescue buds and 100% helps to make people happy! It's the win-win-win of holiday shopping!
Thank you for all you do to support animal rescues and for helping to spread the Get Fixed message.
Thanks for nearly 1,000 votes for my Philadelphia Celebrity Posse contest! My people are verifying the votes and will have the winners posted shortly! I am most concerned with validating the legitimacy of The Sneak as I am sure you can understand why…those sneaks can be super sneaky!
As Sherman, strutting my stuff around Philadelphia is something I naturally love to do freely and on my own. So when Dana, president of PAWS Philly, called me up to be the “Grand Puba” of her annual Mutt Strut to help raise funds and increase adoptions, I was on it like white on rice.
Join me and my friends next Saturday, October 29 at FDR Park! It’s $25 per person or you can start a team to raise money for PAWS by registering here.
I’m thinking of going as a Shark. Thoughts?
I'M A BAD DOG! October 12, 2011
This weekend I will be at the Bad Dog Ball doing what I do best - being bad for a good cause. The PSPCA has graciously invited me as the celebrity guest dog. I’ll be strutting my tail down the pink carpet at around 9:30PM so be sure to be there for a high paw and a signed book. Ten-percent of books sold at the event will benefit the PSCPA. .........................................................
MY WEEKEND PLANS October 5, 2011
Last Saturday I put on my first fall festival outfit [a Phillies t-shirt] and headed out to the Midtown Fall Festival where I headed the Pooch Parade and gave out my first check of $2,510 to PAWS Philadelphia. I’ll admit, it felt good to donate 100% of the proceeds from my first 100 books to the lost dogs and cats of Philadelphia.
Add a little good vibe to your day: buy my book knowing that it is helping a dog or cat find a better place to live. .........................................................
MY WEEKEND PLANS September 28, 2011
It’s the final week for entries into my Philadelphia Celebrity Posse contest! This weekend, after the parade events and paw signing, I will be looking through all the entries to see who made the semi-finals! Then, get ready to vote your paws off!! Entries are being accepted through tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 30 here. .........................................................
THE BIG EASY September 21, 2011
Life as a celebrity really does come with its perks. On a recent stroll with my parents, my stout legs just couldn’t carry me any longer [don’t fret, it was pure laziness, I assure you] so I snuck my way into the stroller.
Wouldn’t this be great for a "sneaky" entry into my posse contest? Too bad I am already in it! There is only one more week left for entries, so don’t forget to get your application in! .........................................................
9/11 REFLECTION September 14, 2011
As I lay on my bed hoping that no 9/11 event would upset the treasure chest of bone wonderfulness know as my back yard, I couldn’t help but imagine what the world would be like if everyone read my book GET FIXED. Click here to join the movement! .........................................................
MY NEW FRIENDS AT AMERICAN BULLDOG RESCUE September 7, 2011
I’d like to introduce you to Jodi Specter at the American Bulldog Rescue. They do great job for my cousins, and we should all support them. Plus, Jodi makes delicious dog treats that you can buy at their store. Glad to know you Jodi!
LESSON #19 FROM GET FIXED: SPLURGE August 31, 2011
Sometimes splurging on yourself does not always mean a new car, a limo ride to dinner, or a blinged out collar to wear for all your appearances [although, let’s be honest, often it does meant that].
Sometimes, it just means splurging on happiness…on something that makes you happier and brighter. And just in time, GET FIXED is now available on Amazon.com for the splurging on yourself [and others]. The Philadelphia City Paper called GET FIXED a “back to the basics of being in a relationship” and a recent Amazon.com reviewer noted that it was “to the point, easy to remember, and impactful.”
Pick up your copy of GET FIXED to serve as a constant reminder of how live and interact, and then go out and DO IT.
P.S. If you already have GET FIXED, tell me how much you loved it on our Amazon.com listing -- you know, splurge on the compliments, too. :) .........................................................
FAB EVENT COMING SOON! August 24, 2011

Wednesday, September 7, 2011,
7 - 9 pm
45 North 3rd Street, 3rd Floor
[On 3rd Sounth of Arch Street]

CRAMPING MY STYLE August 17, 2011
Just when I was about to submit my Back-To-School campaign to the wire, I'm getting edited again! I am seriously considering getting new "people" and especially people that don't wear suits!
Check out Miette! She is the Coco Chanel of pooches! Mais Oui Mademoiselle! .........................................................
THE NIGHT PHILLY STOOD STILL August 10, 2011
What are you doing this Saturday? Sleeping in until noon? Recovering from Friday? Have you ever awoken with the unrequited longing to spend your Saturday evening with me, a bottle of wine, and the telly? Well, on this Saturday, August 13, you will finally have your Saturday wish come true.
Last week, I filmed a segment with Karen Rogers over at 6ABC for FYI Philly . It airs at 7PM this Saturday and finally gives you and I a little downtime to get to know one another better. Well, at least you will get to know me a tad bit more and watch me slobber all over Karen the microphone. .........................................................
FINALLY COMING OUT August 3, 2011
I am not often humbled. Yet, when dear old friends and lovely new ones honored me with their presence and loving support of my new book and cause, I cannot help but to be humbled...even if it is accompanied with the very beautiful dancers from Delilah’s and the endless belly rubs they willingly donated. [Hugh Hefner, eat your heart out.]
The event was the to-be-seen-at occasion with beautifully clad women at every turn and a local band, appropriately named Sherman. Between cocktail sipping and cookie nibbling, guests raised more than $1,000 in additional funds for PAWS while also showing their support through book, t-shirt, and sticker purchases. A big thank you to the supporters of the evening, many of whom donated their time or products, for the evening’s event:
For this dog, GET FIXED is the National Bloody Anthem of Life, and it was about time to belt it out for all to hear. My first performance venue: the NBC10 studios in Philadelphia.
Upon arrival to the NBC10 green room, wearing of course none other than my blinged-out collar, fate made a quick intervention. Sitting upon his fab golden throne was Fate itself in the form of my lifelong idol, First Amendment advocate, and fellow Bad Boy Larry Flynt hustling his own book, “One Nation Under Sex.” I immediately knew that this was a book I could get under [or get on] and that Mr. Flynt was a man after my own heart. We discussed censorship and my most unfortunate Twitter episode and he even posed with the infamous, now censored, spread “Stand On Your Own Two Feet”.
Fate indeed does have sense of irony and perhaps even a bit of a dirty sense of humor. Hey, I’ll take what I can get -- or should I say I'll get what I can take!
MY HEAD IS GETTING TOO BIG FOR MY COLLAR. July 20, 2011
If you have finally had the pleasure of reading my new book, you know that I am no stranger to ego. In fact, she and I are very…very…dear friends. But, when the The 10! Show called me about my first appearance I dare say I almost blushed. When “Getting Fixed” was nothing more than a procedure that rid me of my baby-making abilities, I could only have imagined all of the other opportunities inking my book "GET FIXED" would bring to me.
And here we are!
Looking forward to meeting Bill & Lu Ann, the hosts of the show, and showing them how much of a stud I still am. Be sure to tune in to see me…I’ll be the one sending a wink to all the hotties in the audience. .........................................................
SAND IN MY MARTINI July 13, 2011
I hate to say it. But, my first-ever entry about the going-ons about me, the Sherman, to promote my recent book, GET FIXED, is not from my home digs in Philadelphia as originally planned. Instead, this little hovel of an undisclosed location will have to do. The wind in my fur, a dirty martini in my paw, and the breathtaking views of ladies, ladies, and ladies! – I can’t complain much. Well, the martini could be a little dirtier.
As I’ve been barred from communicating to you good folks without the proper approvals and whatnot due to recent events of a certain victory dance, I’ll keep this first entry short and safe.
I’m back in Philly in a few weeks, just in time for my “Bubbles and Bones Hump Day Coming Out Party” on August 3rd. Listen, it’s invite only, but if you are one of the first 100 book buyers I’ll throw in pair of tickets. And, the martinis are on me.
